I'm switching sides

I've always heard about how great Macs are but never really wanted to take the time to learn a new system let alone pay for the higher cost of such a device.  However, after the 3rd virus hit my work computer it was time for a change.  Yesterday the store computer went next door to Lynden IT for a full system overhaul and it will become the cash register ONLY.  No surfing the web on that machine.   My sweet husband took it upon himself to find me a great deal on a Macbook which he brought home beaming like the proud knight in shining armor he is.  So here's hoping...if I get a virus on this new machine we will know it is the user and not the computer.  I'm optimistically moving forward and learning all the bells and whistles this new computer has to offer.  It definitely has some fun features.  Here's some shots of me and the kids trying out Photo Booth.

BOOTS!

Boots = Fall.  All around the show I was told that boots are going to be the new shoe this season.  Ankle boots, mid calf, high boots, rain boots, leather boots, western boots, biker boots...you name it.  It is all about the boots.  So if you are not totally comfortable and "up" with that style this is your 4 month warning to get ready.  Save your pennies, test out those skinny jeans (or not), and get ready to sport some boots.

                                               

Another big trend for fall, a build on last year's fashion trend, is gray.  Remember this post, and this one.  I wasn't kidding.  Gray is HUGE!  I personally love the new black.  It looks awesome with jeans, matches absolutely everything, and looks great casual but can be dressed up for a night on the town (watch out Lynden).  I encourage you not to be afraid.  You really can't do gray wrong.  It just always looks great.  Pair it with black, brown, red, purple, green, blue...really, you can't find a color it doesn't look good with.  And since color is the upcoming clothing trend for fall, you will want a pair of gray shoes or boots in your wardrobe.  Perfect for that outfit when black and brown just won't do.

I'm back

Hello Friends!  I'm back from Portland and all jazzed up about Fall.  Doesn't that seem odd being that we have just started spring?  I kinda think the shoe/fashion world breeds schizophrenic behaviors.  I want to enjoy the current season but I am forced to move to the next season when the previous one has just begun.  But alas, that is my plight with owning a shoe store.  And so I present a sneak peak of fall...from Clarks, Born, and Sofft

I'm heading to Portland this weekend to do my Fall 2010 ordering.
I love shoe shows.  There is so much excitement in the air.  New shoes are everywhere.  I wish you could all come along and experience it with me.  I also wish you were there to inspire me in my shoe selection.  It is all very overwhelming.  300+ vendors all trying to sell you their product.  Each vendor probably has over 100 shoes on display.  AHHHH...I get nervous just thinking about it.
Wish me luck.  I hope to bring back some great new styles for fall.  I have seen a sneak preview of what Dansko is offering and it is totally new and very hip for Dansko.  Indigo and Privo have stepped up their line-up big time and we have some great boots to look forward to next season.  I'll take pictures and show you some of the things you can be waiting for.

Kid's and Spring

Kid's and spring are like peanut butter and jelly.  They just go together.
The thought of kids running through sprinklers, riding bikes, and playing at the park is comforting.  It makes me feel like all is right with the world.

New Dansko Sandals
