Shoes for Haiti

Despite the fact that our western world is managing to live in relative tranquility, Haiti continues to face the after-effects of the massive destruction that happened on Jan 12, 2010.  Most of their cities have yet to be re-built.  Many continue to live in make-shift tents, scrounging for food and water, and trying to keep their families safe amongst the rioting.

A local Lynden family volunteers with Mission-Haiti,  a school and orphanage ministry in Tri-Riviere.

They were able to take several boxes of shoes with them because of your generous donations.

We are blessed with an abundance that we readily take for granted.  "Not knowing what tomorrow will bring" is a cliche saying that we hear but most of us don't really have to live our lives by. Thankfully because of our abundance we can also give abundantly.

Over the past year, you have brought it in shoes, some by the box full, that we have been able to send to Haiti.  Sole Obsession partnered with many different organizations to make sure that your shoes ended up on the feet of those that needed them.  Thank you for your generous donations!

This year we will be again joining in the effort to bring shoes to Haitian people.  I am thankful for the many Lynden residents who give of their time and money to visit Haiti and take your donations of food, clothes, and shoes along with them. Because of their sacrifice
we are able to again gather shoes for this cause.

Will you join us?

Throughout February, Sole Obsession Footwear will be
holding our
3rd Annual Shoe Drive.

Check back for more details to come February 1st.

We will be sending the bulk of the shoes we collect through Starfish Ministries, a local ministry that supports orphanages, schools, and churches throughout Haiti.
Currently Starfish Ministry is active in 31 villages throughout Haiti.
Visit their
website to learn more about their ministry and how you can support what they do.

We hope to continue our support with Mission-Haiti as the Lord opens those opportunities.  In the meantime you can learn more about their ministry and ways to get involved by visiting their
website.
